"We'll Take It From Here"
This year, our focus is clear: The Education Battleground. Parents are rising to protect their God-given authority in raising and discipling their children. In a culture filled with confusion and policy threats to parental rights, CHES 2026 is equipping families to lead with biblical conviction, clarity, and courage—for such a time as this.
Scripture does not limit God’s influence in government—it speaks directly to the proper use of power, governance, and public leadership. Civic engagement must begin with a reverent understanding of God’s authority, aligning perspective, decisions, and character with His nature and moral order.
At CHES 2026, we are committed to equipping parents and leaders not only for the home but also for their role in the public square, preparing a generation that will stand firm in faith and truth.
About Us

Chicago Home Educators’ Summit (CHES) is an annual gathering founded by Christian Home Educators Support System (CHESS) — established by Ronald and Latasha H. Fields, veteran home educators with over 19 years of experience- is a Christ-centered homeschool cooperative and microschool dedicated to providing families with individualized, high-quality education rooted in faith. Since 2006, CHESS has been supporting parents and students, offering a tailored approach that nurtures both academic excellence and spiritual growth. Through our programs, we empower families to take charge of their children's education, equipping the next generation with the tools and knowledge needed for a Christ-centered life.
Whether you're currently homeschooling, considering it, or simply exploring educational alternatives, CHES 2026 offers something valuable for every parent:

Understanding Policies Affecting
Parental Rights and Education
Across Illinois and the nation, policies are increasingly threatening and undermining parental rights in education, particularly in areas such as curriculum mandates, where children are being exposed to sexually explicit content in school curricula to declining academic standards. The old school approach, emphasizing the 3Rs, and parental consent are virtually obsolete.
CHES 2026 will address these critical issues and provide guidance on how families can navigate the evolving educational landscape. Whether you are homeschooling or exploring other educational options, it's essential to stay informed about these policies to protect your rights and your child's education.
